How to make a GST invoice in 4 steps
  1. Add your business (seller) details — name, address, GSTIN and state. They're remembered for next time.
  2. Enter the customer (Bill To) details and place of supply — GSTIN and HSN/SAC codes are validated as you type.
  3. Add items with quantity, rate, discount, and GST rate — totals update instantly, split correctly into CGST+SGST or IGST.
  4. Preview live, save, then Print / Save as PDF, or export a month's invoices to Excel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this GST invoice generator free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up. Your business details, customers, and invoices are saved locally in your own browser (localStorage) — nothing is uploaded to a server.

Does it calculate CGST, SGST and IGST automatically?

Yes. It compares your business's GSTIN state code against your customer's place of supply: if they match, tax splits into CGST + SGST; if they differ, it's IGST — exactly as GST law requires. You never enter the split manually.

Can I download the invoice as a PDF?

Yes, using your browser's own print function (Print → Save as PDF). This avoids adding a heavy PDF-generation library just to produce a document your browser can already create natively, and gives you the exact same reliable output every browser supports.

Is my invoice data safe? Where is it stored?

Entirely in your own browser's localStorage, on your own device. It is never transmitted to any server. This also means it won't follow you to a different browser or device — it's a local drafting tool, not an account-based invoicing system.

Can I create documents other than a Tax Invoice?

Yes — Proforma Invoice, Quotation, Delivery Challan, Credit Note, and Debit Note are all available as document types, using the same line-item and tax-calculation engine.

Does it validate my GSTIN?

Yes, using the real official GST check-digit algorithm (the same one used throughout this site's GSTR-1 tools) — not just a format check, an actual checksum validation.

Can I export my invoices to Excel?

Yes — the invoice list can be exported to an Excel file summarising every saved invoice (number, date, customer, taxable value, tax, and total).
